Teahouse Quilts

2008-2020

An installation of hundreds of tea stained paper filters inscribed with personal stories and memories about The Bronx and Tea from participants who have taken part in an interactive performance since 2007 where tea is served within a mobile teahouse setting. Inscribed tea stained paper tea filters measuring 7” x 4” hang from plastic netting with binder clips, supported by copper pipe. All ages of participants are invited to sit and share a tea, after which their inscribed tea stories are added to the surrounding quilts.
