Announcing the start of the Bronx Council on the Arts-funded Community Engagement project Nature in Absentia: Inversion, in collaboration with the Van Cortlandt Park Alliance Learning Garden and Compost Site. For the rest of the year, I will be working with Youth Interns and Community members to cast fallen native trees from major climate events in paper from non-native plants. The project focuses on introducing participants to The Park’s ecology as a Forever Wild Preserve by reanimating fallen trees and their exposed roots into an immersive installation that explores biological and cultural diversity, migration, and environmental stewardship.
