Nature in Absentia: Inversion

Announcing the start of the Bronx Council on the Arts-funded Community Engagement project Nature in Absentia: Inversion, in collaboration with the Van Cortlandt Park Alliance Learning Garden and Compost Site. For the rest of the year, I will be working with Youth Interns and Community members to cast fallen native trees from major climate events in handmade paper from non-native plants. The project focuses on introducing participants to The Park’s ecology as a Forever Wild Preserve by reanimating fallen trees and their exposed roots into an immersive installation that explores biological and cultural diversity, migration, and environmental stewardship.

The production of Nature in Absentia: Inversion is being made possible with grants from the Bronx Council on the Arts, The Puffin Foundation, and the Manship Artist Residency’s 2026 Great Marsh Artists Fellows. Stay tuned for future programming and exhibitions.
